"Summer Serenade" is a co-production by Minna Tervamäki and DanceWorks Helsinki.
The work features excerpts from Tervamäki's previous production and new choreography. The work carries towards summer and light, peeking at the connection between momentariness, the passage of time and the inevitable beauty of dance.

Shadows need light to be born. They also need something to stop the light's progress or change its path. DanceWorks Helsinki's first premiere dives into the world of shadows: it explores both metaphorically and literally how the tension between lightness and weight can trap the mind and body.
The intangible nature of shadows and the emotions and images they generate provide a fascinating starting point for a choreography based on the movement language of contemporary ballet, in which lightness and heaviness alternate.
Iiro Rantala's lively piano music adds a unique depth to the work. How can something intangible weigh so much?
The performers are Suvi Honkanen, Atte Kilpinen, Minna Tervamäki and Iiro Rantala.

MINNA TERVAMÄKI CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP IN HELSINKI
SPRING 2025
The workshop includes 10 training sessions on Saturdays from 10-12 on the following dates:
Weeks 3 and 4, 6 and 7, 9 and 10, 12 and 13 and 15 and 17.
In addition, on four Saturdays (Weeks 3, 7, 12 and 17) Arja will lead a relaxation stretch from 12.15-13.00.
Each workshop session will include a warm-up of Minna's methods and choreography practice using contemporary ballet techniques. The rehearsed choreography will be presented in the spring performance at the Helsinki Dance Centre at the end of May. Participation in the performance is not compulsory.

Does music make you move? Experience the music created by movement now! In Stefan Klaverdal and Minna Tervamäki's unique performance, music is constructed in real time from the sounds of the space, the audience and the performance itself, manipulated through movement.
In this performance, nothing is certain. The music has not been prepared in advance and the choreography has not been choreographed. Everything to be seen and heard is created in the immediate present moment of the performance.
The music slowly builds up from words, the random sounds of the audience or the rustle of clothes, and soon transforms into something else. A story that no one has heard yet.
